Thanks for your message. Professor Harvey is referring to the correct page, p 142, for that quote.

harvey says in the second video
davidharvey org/2008/06/marxs-capital-class-02/
in minute 34:20 "on hundred and forty two"
but the page he is refering to is 132.

shouldnt there be an editor note in the subtitles, that he actually means page 132?

Hi Chris,
I am translating DH's class on capital.

But I am very much troubled in translating speech. Because this is the first time i am going it. Problem is with my language. It has reverse order than English.

അത് വളരെ രസകരമാണ് വായിക്കുന്നത്
it's very interesting reading

ആ വീക്ഷണത്തില്‍ മാര്‍ക്സിനെ
Marx in that perspective.

If i translate word by word as in English it looks bad in out language. For our language it has to be said like:

reading Marx in that perspective.

it's very interesting

So what I have to do. Change the order of the speech as per our language style or keep exactly as what was said?

Or can i merge these 2 sections together. means 0:12:02.819 - 0:12:07.460. If its so i have freedom to reverse the words. without that if i reverse the words, then the speech in one section may not be the one displayed as the caption. eg for section 0:12:02.819,0:12:04.830 caption will be of 0:12:04.830,0:12:07.460.

What is the better approach. May some other languages also has same issue. Please give some suggestions.

I know this thread is old, but I'll ask anyway. What edition are we agreeing on ? I believe that the folio essai edition is a good take, Maximilien Rubel's work use's Roy's translation but added notes when passages where missing. Do we go with that and remove any reference to the Lachâtre edition ?

Hi, I'm interested in translating this into Malay. Can someone create the appropriate section for it?

Hola a todos. Acabo de descubrir este proyecto de traducción y comenzaré a trabajar en concluir todas las clases. Si alguien se apunta a editar/revisar mi traducción sería genial!
Voy a seguir las instrucciones que han dicho, dejando la frase en inglés y esperando que otro participante le dé el visto bueno. Sobre las citas, las dejaré tal cual, pues yo lo he leído en inglés y no quiero estropear nada.

Ojalá alguien más pueda retomar el proyecto y apoyarme en la traducción!

Thank you Amon-Re.

You'll see I've added some insight regarding references on the main French translation page.

I am also going to alter the page number and insert a french reference for Capital by adding a few timecodes.
If this is possible.

I'll take care of that and compare with my Capital in french.
I am currently translating the Class #2

I've finished the translation of Class 1 in French, but won't have the time right now to reread it.
If someone has the energy to do it…

Hola, me sumo al proyecto. La clase 3 parece terminada no? Le falta algo?

Me he puesto a continuar la clase 5, mantengo de momento la transcripción en inglés.

Un cordial saludo.

The subtitles only get uploaded to youtube when they are finished, so if there are subtitles available, then they're complete (except for the automatic English ones).
I checked lectures 1, 2 and 4, which have Spanish translations and they all appear correctly, like this:

Do you have the same problem if you use captions of another language?
Could you link a picture of what you see? Thanks

You can watch the classes with Spanish subtitles on youtube, if the word 'completed' is next to one of the classes on this site, it means that the subtitles have been uploaded to youtube.
So at the moment that's class 1,2 and 4.

It appears that class 3 has also been completed by pascualquiera, so if someone sends a message to the admin that will be updated as well.

Each page for each class on this site also has a link to the youtube video; in case you don't know there a list of all the videos here:

-Espero que esto responda a sus preguntas.
